Project: Oklahoma DOC - Searching for Prison Escapees

Description: I was the Web Editor (layout, data prep, project management) for a special presentation by The Oklahoman and NewsOK profiling the most wanted and at-large fugitives from the Oklahoma Department Of Corrections. The package includes profiles on the 77 escapees currently at large, interviews with DOC officials and former escapees, as well as a look at the individual prisons and a review of a 1978 prison escape that ended with the death of three Oklahoma state troopers.

Project: Singletree Productions website.

Description: I renovated the Singletree site this year to improve it's user experience, add much needed content curation, add a CMS to the backend to control the main site, all subsites and movie sites going forward.

Description: NewsOK obits is a custom built system for submitting, processing, printing and editing death notices to The Oklahoman and NewsOK. The system currently stores over 28,000 entries and processes their output for multiple displays including real time web and print prodution. I am the project lead, programmer, and ongoing UI developer for the project.

Description: An ongoing project of long form stories from the staff at The Oklahoman. I am the primary project manager and lead developer for the web-based installements of the series.

Project: NewsOK Politics

Description: The politics coverage on NewsOK was revamped two years ago. I was the project and content manager for the initial build out of the site and created a system for entering and tracking elections results. A custom API was built to serve real time results to NewsOK on election nights.

Project: OKC Homicides Map

Description: The Oklahoma City homicides map tracks murders in the Oklahoma City area, displays victim information as well as detailed reports of statistical data. The advanced search allows for a variety of configurations for finding homicides based on age, race, gender and several other categories. I was the lead programmer, front-end developer and data architect for the project.

Project: On the Line

Description: We teamed up with war correspondant Mike Boetcher and his son Carlos to create a custom blog to document their experiences in Afghanistan. In addition to a custom Wordpress theme with extensive custom PHP I also helped develop the workflows for compressing footage for upload via sattelite to NewsOK's video hosting service, Brightcove.
